The first time I "stepped into" Priscilla's shop, I knew I absolutely MUST invite the owner to join me for tea in the garden. Please give a warm and friendly welcome to Priscilla from the beautiful Etsy shop...

~The Interview~
Me: Hello, Priscilla! I am so delighted to have you here in my garden to-day!
Do you think you could please tell me and my readers a little bit about yourself?
Priscilla: I am a stay at home mother to Lydia, 19 - Martha, 17 and Gabriel, 11. Before I had children I worked as a paralegal for 7 years, but being a mother was a big dream of mine since I was a little girl, and so I am very happy to be a SAHM.
Me: What inspired you to start an Etsy shop and how long has it been in full operation?
Priscilla: I am the "Sunshine Lady" in my local quilt guild, which means that I send the birthday, get well cards, etc. I was having trouble keeping enough cards on hand to send out and so I began making them. That led to paper crafting which led to my shop. My shop has been open since September 2010.
Me: What is your inspiration for your products?
Priscilla: I have been keeping an "Inspiration Notebook" for about 8 years. In it, I keep pictures, quotes, ideas, etc. for things I want to make. The actual making is always a mishmash of ideas put together. Kind of like coming up with your own recipe - a little of this from here and a little of that from there - and you come up with your own dish!
Me: Your shop's name is quite whimsical...is there a particular concept or story behind the naming of it?
Priscilla: I just love trees so much -everything about them. I have a beautiful pear tree in my yard and seeing it's sweet white blooms in the spring, gave me "Blossom and Twig."
Me: What are some of your best selling item(s) in your shop?
Priscilla: I have sold a lot of these Mason jar tags:
And alot of these bookmarks:
Priscilla: I enjoy this shop a lot:
And this shop:
And also this shop:
Priscilla: Having really great photos is super important. That is your hook to pull people into your shop. Even if your item is great, but your photograph isn't great, then your item doesn't look great and people will pass on by. The other most important tip I can give is to list - alot. The more you list, the more sales you will have. You must think of that .20 listing fee as advertising for your shop and your item.
Thank you, Priscilla for allowing me to interview you! It was such a pleasure to have you, and I hope that this
year you will be blessed with many sales!
