the gift of friendship | a guest post by crista moriah

Hello there!  This is Moriah writing to you while Miss Grace is away.
I am thrilled about being a 'gardeness' to help tend her lovely blog!
Today, I would like to write about a topic that is dear to my heart: friendship.

This book excerpt from Beautiful Girlhood explains it well,
"Friendship is a wonderful thing. The love of friendship is often stronger than the love of brotherhood and sisterhood. There is a cord of tenderness and appreciation binding those who are friends which is lovely beyond words to express it. Every true-hearted girl loves her friends with a devotion that beautifies her life and enlarges her heart."

What an important role friendships plays in the process of blossoming from the bud of girlhood to the rose of womanhood. It is essential to choose who our companions are, for we will become like those we are around (Proverbs 13:20). A good question to ask ourselves is this: Does so and so impact my life in a good way or a bad way?  Are their influences pointing me to Christ or away from Him?

Perhaps some even more important questions to ask ourselves is are we pointing our friends to Jesus?  Are we setting the good example?  Do we put our friends first?  For, to have a good friend, we must be a good friend.  As Christians, we develop our walk with the best friend of all: Jesus.  He will always be our best friend if we let Him.

                                   "To have a good friend is one of the highest delights of life;
                        to be a good friend is one of the noblest and most difficult undertakings
."

Friendship is indeed a gift to cherish.
I am thankful for every friendship that has blossomed in my life.
Each one is unique and every friend holds a special place in my heart!

Here is a lovely song I would like to share with you! *winks*

please remember to pause the playlist at the bottom of the page. :)

Stay strong dear sisters~
May we strive to choose our companions wisely and realize
that friendship truly is one of the greatest gifts we can possess!

With Love in Christ,
Moriah

{about the authoress}
I'm just another rose blooming in the garden... My heart belongs to the Gardener. My wish is that people will sense the fragrance of Christ in me as I continue to grow in Him. In my spare time, I enjoy my hobbies of reading novels, photography, creating jewelry, as well as sharing life on my blog, Uniquely Fashioned for His Glory.
