To-day is the first of July.
The second month of summer vacation.
To-day marked the first day where the summer magic begins.
When the word "summer" comes to mind, I think a lot of fourth of July celebrations. To me, fourth of July marks the "middle" of summer. When fourth of July nears, can you not feel a sense of patriotism in the air? It's pure and fresh and uplifting and...wonderful.
It's exciting because all of the busyness of June has melted away, and now the magic begins.
Summer isn't just about running through the bokeh-filled sprinklers, eating crisp watermelon on a paint-chipping porch, hearing your relatives call from the open screen door that supper is served, watching in awe the fireworks bursting with colors, or giggling with friends and family on a checkered blanket, it's about...
making memories.
And that memory is the only true magic that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
What a lovely picture and sweet words! It caputres the simple joys and memories of summer...
