On A Hill Faraway...

Stood an old rugged cross...

The emblem of suff’ring and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

No one can fully comprehend the wonderful love of our Savior. He hanged suffering on that cross, naked, and barely alive because of the soldier's merciless beatings. And yet, that was the only way for us to be and to have a personal relationship with Him. He loved us so much that he not only allowed those strips to be put upon his back, for the cross to be placed on his wounds, and for the soldiers to nail his hands and feet upon it, but the sins of the entire world were placed on His shoulders and His Father in heaven had to turn away from Him because He cannot look upon sin.

That was the only way...

Might we remember this weekend what He did for us this Resurrection Day.
