|| video teachers: mr. mcbride {Bible doctrine, history}, mr. ridgley {chemistry}, mr. zila {american government}, miss autrey {speech}. I also had the opportunity to meet, mr. birx {Bible doctrine}, mr. howe {math}, miss stancel {science, biology}, mrs. thompson {english}; and saw, mrs. mclamb {spanish I & II} and mrs. howe {algebra I} ||

this is what happens when over 380 video homeschoolers from all 50 states + all over the globe get together in Pensacola, Florida to graduate. they instantly become paparazzi when a video teacher is sighted. they squeal over seeing the classrooms in which the video lessons were filmed. and they all stand in line to personally shake Mr. McBride's hand.

I can't even describe how full my heart is after a week of touring Pensacola Christian Academy and Pensacola Christian College, reuniting with family after five years, making new friends, and connecting with future college students. The Lord could definitely be seen working throughout my visit to the PCC campus including: connecting me to amazing people and future PCC students, keeping a torrential thunder storm at bay, and giving me peace in my decision to move to a college across the country. in such a short amount of time, i have learned so much: that college life is daunting but exciting and whatever you may believe, you are never ever alone. as an A Beka homeschooler {K-12th grade}, it was absolutely incredible to be able to meet the teachers who have had such an impact on my life as well as fellow classmates who have been through the same rigorous curriculum.

congratulations, class of 2014!

to say the least, I can't wait for college. :)
to you homeschoolers, what homeschool program{s} do/did you use?

  2. Congrats on graduating, Grace!!!
I never did the A beka video program, but I have used a lot of their books. I especially like their literature books.

PCC looks like a really cool college.

I hope you have a great day!!!

  5. Congrats! :) I was only homeschooled in high school, and we went through Christian Liberty Academy. They used quite a few A Beka books, though.

  7. Your photos share a time of eager anticipation, excitement, and the joy of graduating with an amazing school and loved teachers. Congrats! It is so exciting to see where the Lord leads us, and I rejoice to hear that He has given you peace and joy in your future planning. Abeka has been a curriculum well known throughout my homeschooling years, and their college looks like an AMAZING place to continue to grow and learn....blessings on this new season of your life! {And might I add, you looked simply darling in your photos.... lovely beauty and a heart for Christ shining in your countenance!} *hugs*

  8. Wow, congratulations! My best friend is going to be a freshman at Pensacola Christian College this year. She also used the Abeka videos for a lot of her schooling, but then switched to a private Christian school. Anyways, funny coincidence. :)
Hope college goes great for you! :)

  10. Congrats, Grace! And how fun it must have been to meet your teachers and classmates - I took some correspondence classes this year and so wish our chemistry class could somehow have an in-person reunion. ;) I was able to meet my science teacher last fall, which was so fun, so I think I have a little taste of what it must have been like at your graduation, but getting to meet a lot more people :) Are you planning on going to PCC? Blessings as you start this new chapter of your journey! <3

  12. I loved seeing your pictures of the video classes. I'm a junior in Abeka and my older sisters have attended or are currently PCC. Finding other people with similar education backgrounds is exciting and I am so glad I found your blog.
