Hello Dear Readers! Hope that everyone has had a nice week so far. We have been having very pleasant spring weather (what a nice change from the rainy weather we have been having) which should continue for the rest of the week! Yippy!
My family and I decided to take advantage of the clear weather and visit the fields of wildflowers that we had heard so much about after Sunday's service.
I thought you might enjoy some pictures that I captured with my camera:

My Heart's in the Highlands
by
Robert Burns
My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,
My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birthplace of valour, the country of worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
Farewell to the mountains high cover'd with snow;
Farewell to the straths and green valleys below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods;
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.
My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,
My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Love,
Grace
P.S. Stay tuned for a new story that I am working on. Hint: another fairytale
Beautiful pictures, Grace! Seeing God's creation reminds me that He is indeed, the greatest artist of all! And, thanks for that poem - that's one of my favorites! I know the first 2 lines by heart. The poem holds special meaning not only because I love Scotland, but I have actually been to the Highlands.

Hey Grace. I love your blog. It sounds like we have some things in common. And, My Hearts in the Highland, one of my favorite poems. Partly because I have been there, and partly well I feel like that sometimes. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get the pictures on the sidebar from? I love them, my sentiments precisely. :-)
