Isn't it simply lovely? And filled with a lovely old-fashioned charm! *happy sigh*

The inside is very lovely as well!

I just adore this charming little harvest-greeting! I would love to send this to one of my dearest friends during these chilly months of autumn -- for I know that it would brighten their day so very much!

All edges are hand-inked for a vintage feel. And in the corner, three autumn leaves are adorned with a natural raffia bow. The sunflowers are centered with brown rhinestones for added accent. As with all of my cards, a decorative insert has been included on which to write your personal message, and the card comes with an envelope for mailing.

Autumn Delights :: Far-Away Friends

Autumn is such a beautiful time of year, and one of our very favorite ways to spend our afternoons during this lovely season is in the company of dear friends.

There are so many ways in which we can spend quality time together :: taking nature walks in the midst of brightly colored maple, and oak trees -- sketching out the beauty of it all to keep for a lifetime -- packing picnics and enjoying the breeze on a crisp autumn afternoon -- baking pies, breads, casseroles and other autumn delights in the heart of your home -- sipping a cup of hot cider together, which has been brewing all day, during the evenings -- coming together, bringing out your autumn crafting supplies, and creating harvest crafts together -- enjoying an autumn tea -- the list goes on. The possibilities are boundless!

But what about those dear, far-away friends? We find it so sad that the above activities can not be shared with them, as they are such a large part of our lives, and hold such an important place in our hearts. Indeed, Grace and I are the very dearest friends -- yet miles of countryside come between us. How may we share the beauty, life and joy of autumn with friends that are so very dear with us, yet, who live so very far away?

Well, we believe there are many lovely ways to 'send' them a little bit of your autumn. We find sending a little package in the mail, along with a sweet letter is a perfect way to show your friends how thankful you are for them this autumn, is the perfect way to share this special season with your very dearest friends.

First, write them a lengthy letter. Handwritten are the best :: they posses such a lovely charm, which only handwritten letters hold. Use some lovely autumn stationary, and your best penmanship. Just before sealing the envelope, sprinkle some lavender inside, and seal it with a deep red wax seal. What a perfectly old-fashioned autumn greeting this always turns out to be!

Then, it would be so nice to pack them a small package with homemade goodies inside. We always love to receive packages from far-away friends, especially when the contents are handmade by the sender. Here are a few lovely ideas which we have found --

These are always perfect little gifts, that will last quite a long time. They also will create a lovely aroma inside the entire little package.

What a perfect autumn delight? Especially for those far away friends who have a love for sewing.

These little boxes would be so perfect to conceal some small little goodies that you are sending along -- and are a gift in themselves, for I know that I would find uses of my own if we received such lovely little boxes as these in a package addressed to me.

What a lovely gift these tiny little candles would made, to pack inside your small package. Small, delicate, creative and, of course, a beautiful aroma! *sigh*

What a perfectly lovely gift to send off to your dearest friend, just before the cold sets in. Fingerless gloves are the perfect gift, especially for those hopelessly-old-fashioned friends! *smile*

There are so many other wonderful tutorials out there for you to follow, in order to make up a special package for your dear, far-away friends! Now is the perfect time to start creating! Once you have you goodies made, wrap them in some lovely brown paper, and tie them with hemp cord. Place them in the package, along with your handwritten letter. You could also send a bundle of your favorite recipes along as well, or perhaps some tutorials, or patterns. Sprinkle some dried rose, or lavender inside you box, seal it, and send it off!

Your friend will have such a lovely surprise waiting on her doorstep withing a few days!

So now, we welcome you -- our sweet friends -- into our crafting room, where we shall package up many small autumn delights, and send them off to those friends who, although they live so very far away, are so very close to our hearts.

Once you have created your post, link it up below. You will be able to create 'your friendship package' up until October 23 {after which this linky will be closed}-- we can't wait to come and visit!

Fall Fashion :: Day One {+Huge Giveaway}

Welcome, sweet readers! This morning signifies the first day of our Fall Fashion event, which {as you can see by looking at the program} are scattered throughout our entire Walk Through the Orchard -- I hope that you will be able to join us in exhibiting beautiful, feminine, modest and, of course, Autumn'y fashions!

Autumn is one of our favorite times of year for many, many reasons {as I am sure you are beginning to find out through this event}. However, one of the dominant reasons would be the lovely apparel you turn to in the mornings. We begin to put away our summery clothing -- and exchange them for fingerless gloves, scarves, long-sleeved blouses, full, floor-length skirts, cute leather boots and warm, knit socks. This is the time of year when those sultry mornings of summer, melt into a crisp, cool autumn evening.

So join us, and let us inspire you to bring out the beauty of autumn!

:: The Giveaway ::

For our Fall Fashion event, we am so pleased to be hosting two very special giveaway --
only open exclusively to those who participate in one or more of the Fall Fashion Days.

| Firstly |

We was so blessed to come upon a beautiful shop entitled 'LBArtworks'. Miss Lynda, who opened LBArtworks in June of 2007, offers so many beautiful purses to choose from -- each so very beautiful, and each full of style and charm. After searching her shop for a while, we found a certain purse that we knew would be simply perfect for our Walk Through the Orchard  -- and Miss Lynda was only too happy to sponsor for us!

Today, I am so happy to offer the participants in my Fall Fashion Days this lovely purse ~

Is this not one of the most beautiful purses you have ever seen? I wish ever so much that I could afford to buy one of my own. Such warm rich colors, such a natural air which is added by the buttons, and so much charm is added with the little bird silhouette -- the winner of this lovely handmade purse is going to be one extremely blessed young woman! *smile*

:: item description ::
   The color of the leaves on this fabric just needed a little bird hiding in their midst. The soft Pumpkin duck canvas cloth was just the right background for the little bird who has landed on a tree branch.
   I have appliqued fabric that is covered with trees and leaves to the bag while a hand drawn bird and leaves are also appliqued onto the purse to complete the design.
  The lining of the purse is made of tan soft cotton. The bag measures 9" wide by 11" tall and contains 6 pockets for all those things that generally end up in the bottom of the purse. The handle has a handmade wood button with a hole in the center attached to help adjust the shoulder strap. It matches the buttons that are attached to the flap which secures the bag opening with a magnetic snap. The flap was added for all of you who need more security for the bag opening.
  The handmade wood buttons vary according to what wood is available to me. I use only fallen wood and no trees are harmed in the making of my buttons.
  Everything has been double sewn and the stress areas have triple stitching. Batting and interfacing has been placed between the lining and outer fabrics to give the bag a very soft and yet durable feel.
  This is a great bag for any occasion! It is plenty roomy for all those necessities and extras too!

| Secondly |

We have a beautiful, soft, hand-knitted cowl perfect for autumn! Angela sweetly offered to contribute this beautiful cable cowl valued at $30! Please be sure to view her lovely shop, filled to the brim with hand-knit scarves, wool hats, shawls, mittens, cuffs, and all other sorts of lovelies - perfect for autumn or as holiday gifts.

The winner will be allowed to to choose the color of their choice.

:: item description ::
Hand knitted soft and comfy cowl style scarf shown in beautiful Wheat colorway. Two button closure and cable design make this cowl functional and stylish. Hand knitted in a soft wool blend. Perfect fall and winter accessory.
