DAY 3 {tuesday}the house was quiet in the morning of day three, and so Miss Johanna and I went downstairs and prepared a simple breakfast. whilst we sipped on smoothies and nibbled on eggs an buttery english muffins, we chatted lightly and still tried to make ourselves believe we were together again. *smile* when her older brothers came downstairs, we all crammed into his little gold car, and laughed hysterically as we listened to this song {to this day that gets stuck in my head}.
...as soon as we hopped out of the car, Johanna and I rushed over the Irvine Spectrum's {this is coming from a small-town girl, GINORMOUS} movie theater, in hopes to catch the 12:15 showing of The Amazing Spiderman {you can read Johanna's thoughts on the movie here}. if there is one thing you did not know about us, we are both H.U.G.E. Marvel fans.
after the movie, we were ecstatic to have discovered a photobooth in the theater's lobby for our SMASH journals. as soon as the movie was over and we stepped out into the hot sun, our fun day of shopping had begun. best friends are not truly best friends unless they go shopping together, right? *smile*
the first place we went into was a jewelry store going out of business {meaning SALE!}, and we quickly stumbled upon two sweet cameo necklaces that we purchased for one another. we snacked on cinnamon pretzel bits as we tried on funny sunglasses {Johanna was determined to find a certain pair of glasses to match someone very "amazing" *giggle*} and ended up purchasing aviator shades {at charlotte russe} so we could be matching.
our next stop was the Spectrum's ferris wheel. weeks before my trip, she had said that we were to ride either the carousel or ferris wheel and so we simply had to make time for it.
up, up, and away we went. the view was unforgettable, not because it was gorgeous, but because I was sitting right next to my dearest friend watching, the world go by...together.
isn't she purty?
...and then there's me who is apparently not "awkward just weird." *crickets in the background* either way, I do not take either as a compliment. *giggle*
we finished the day with a chai and frappicino from Starbucks and sat in front of Chipotle waiting for her brothers to pick us up again. the evening ended with a showing of Marvel's Thor, and I went to sleep thinking of our wonderful day at the Irvine Spectrum and what was to come the day after...
